Benchmark equity indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50, settled at record highs on closing levels on Thursday.

The Sensex, after scaling an all-time high of 82,129.49, settled with gains of 126 points or 0.15 per cent to 81,867, while the Nifty50 ended 10 points above the 25,000 levels at 25,010. The index had hit a record high of 25,078.30 during early trade on Thursday.

Sensex touched intraday high of 82129.49 and intraday low of 81700.21 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25078.3 and intraday low of 24956.4

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 361.25,+3.63%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 423.35,+1.75%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1640.40,+1.44%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2490.00,+1.38%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1589.40,+1.26%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2829.20,-2.68%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 163.05,-1.39%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1633.80,-1.18%), State Bank of India (Rs. 862.75,-1.15%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1144.60,-1.02%), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4324 , shares advanced were 1737 while 2466 shares declined and 121 were unchanged.
