Equity benchmark Sensex continued to trade higher on Thursday, tracking gains in index heavyweights HDFC twins, ICICI Bank and Infosys amid a positive trend in global markets.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital market as they purchased shares worth Rs 227.42 crore on Wednesday, as per exchange data.
At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 50053.87 up by 392.11 points or by 0.79 % and then NSE Nifty was at 14949.4 up by 130.35 points or by 0.88 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 50118.08 and intraday low of 49832.35 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 14959.25 and intraday low of 14864.55
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1046.15,+4.30%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 1545.20,+2.06%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.
